About

In Indonesian, “Bumi” means Earth and “Cinta” means Love. These two words express the fundamental philosophy that shapes our approach to hospitality, sustainability, and community.

Every aspect of our retreat center reflects this Earth Love philosophy, redefining luxury through sustainable construction, regenerative water and waste systems, farm-to-table dining, and meaningful community partnerships that provide local employment, fair wages, and economic opportunities.

Vision

Our vision is to create a nurturing retreat space for personal transformation and holistic renewal, supporting both individual growth and planetary well-being.

Mission

In order to accomplish our vision we:

  • Serve and treat our guests like family
  • Provide the ideal setting for retreat leaders to conduct their transformative work, enabling them to focus on guiding participants toward personal growth and positive change
  • Take care of our local community with social projects
  • Thrive to educate ourselves, our employees, providers, and guests in permaculture and sustainability through regenerative practices
  • Consider ourselves as custodians of this piece of nature
  • Are proud to be a leading example of conscious business by not only focusing on profit but also purpose through social and environmental responsibility

Construction & Design

  • Cross ventilation eliminates the need for air conditioning while natural light reduces dependence on artificial lighting.
  • We used recycled stone and earth from excavations to create staircases and retaining walls that prevent landscape erosion.
  • Existing trees and natural features were preserved through careful planning that minimized land disruption.

Water Stewardship

  • Restored terraces slow rainwater runoff, creating passive irrigation while preventing erosion.
  • Greywater from sinks and showers receives treatment before reuse in landscape irrigation.
  • Blackwater treatment systems channel nutrients into specialized fruit-bearing gardens where microorganisms and plants naturally purify water.
  • Low-flow shower heads and dual-flush toilets further reduce consumption.

Permaculture & Food Systems

  • Our mature Cacao and Rambutan forest forms the foundation for an expanding Food Forest with ground crops, climbers, and shrubs.
  • Organic vegetable gardens provide fresh ingredients to our restaurant.
  • When we source beyond our land, we prioritize local organic suppliers to support regional farmers and minimize transportation emissions.

Wildlife & Habitat Integration

  • Local wildlife like geckos thrive in our huts thanks to chemical-free environments and preserved natural habitats.
  • We maintain biodiversity corridors and avoid harmful pesticides that could disrupt local flora and fauna.

Community Development

  • Village residents receive fair wages and ongoing skills training as part of our commitment to working as a supportive family. This approach strengthens the local economy while creating authentic cultural connections for guests.

Regenerative Operations

  • Partnership with local waste management specialists focuses on reduction, recycling, and composting.
  • Solar landscape lighting and LPG systems for spa and hot water reduce our electricity footprint. We encourage guests to minimize waste and avoid single-use plastics throughout their stay.

As custodians of this land, we demonstrate how conscious luxury can create positive impact for people, planet, and purpose.
