A living retreat sanctuary, mountainside, overlooking the north shore of Bali. Mountain climate, ocean air, sea views. Held by sacred trees, the rhythms of a working Balinese village, and an architecture that feels like it grew from the land rather than was built on it.

We are a guardianship of the earth, tended daily by the village that built it. Bumi Cinta is not a typical retreat center. It is more like coming home to a place you did not know existed.

Our mission is Earth Love in practice. We are a guardianship of the land, tended daily by the village that built it. Our purpose is to live in harmony with life and to show our guests that this harmony is possible. We want them to carry that knowing home in their hearts.

Spirit
We sit on the slopes above Les Village, facing north, between Mount Batur and the sea. In Balinese cosmology Kaja, toward the mountain, is the direction of the sacred. The gods live there. The water comes from there. The air comes from there. Mountain climate, cool and clean, the wide sky open before you and the sea on the horizon.
Clean, cool mountain air. The Bali that still exists.
Before the first stone was placed, our land guardian Madé listened. He sat with the mother tree, received her wisdom, and let her guide what this place would become. She guided the architecture, the pathways, every space. We built around her, not over her. Both trees on this land are gates and guides. One in the retreat, one at the waterfall.
She was here before us. She guides us still.
It began at the waterfall. Our founders and guardians were each called to Yeh Mempeh, where the Balinese have come to heal and pray for generations. The water brought them here. Bumi Cinta was born from that calling. High above the property, a natural spring feeds this land independently. The gardens, the pool, the kitchen, every shower. Pure from the mountain. We filter everything. We waste nothing.
Water is life. This is where it begins.
